The workshop rules

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 22, 2026

Welcome to AndrewFinkle.com. These are the workshop rules for my website. Safety goggles are optional; respecting other people’s work is part of the deal.

Using the site

I’m Andrew Finkle. These Terms of Use cover your use of this website and its content. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it. The Privacy page explains how personal information is handled.

Content and credit

Unless stated otherwise, the text, photographs, graphics and other material belong to me or their respective owners and are protected by intellectual property laws. References to a company, university or publication do not mean that it endorses everything on this site.

You may view, download or print material for personal, non-commercial use, keeping attribution and rights notices intact. Linking to the site is welcome. Republishing, distributing or commercially reusing material requires permission from the relevant rights holder, except where an applicable law or a separate licence permits it. Open-source projects, third-party publications and linked resources keep their own licences and conditions. A link is not a transfer of ownership. Even in a very nice font.

Reasonable behaviour

Please do not use the site unlawfully, harass others, send spam or malicious material, infringe someone’s rights, or interfere with the site’s operation. Do not attempt unauthorised access to accounts, servers or networks.

Automated access must respect technical restrictions and must not overload the site or collect personal information without permission. Ordinary search-engine indexing and reading the published RSS feed are welcome; other bulk scraping or reuse requires my written permission unless permitted by law.

Information, not project-specific advice

This is a portfolio and writing site. Content may describe historical work, research or prototypes and may become outdated. It is provided for general information, not as engineering approval, safety certification or professional advice for your particular project. Please make appropriate checks and obtain qualified advice before relying on it in practice.

External links are provided for reference. I do not control those sites and cannot guarantee their accuracy, availability or practices.

Availability and responsibility

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” I work to keep them useful and accurate, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, complete accuracy or freedom from errors. To the extent permitted by law, I exclude implied warranties about the site and its suitability for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of, or inability to use, the site or reliance on its general informational content. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights, remedies or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited.

Changes and access

I may update content, change features or discontinue parts of the site. I may restrict access to address misuse, security concerns or a breach of these terms.

If these terms change, I will update the date above and provide any additional notice required by law. Changes apply going forward. Continued use after updated terms take effect means you accept them, subject to any rights you have under applicable law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Disputes may be brought before the courts of Ontario, subject to any mandatory rights you have to use another court or jurisdiction.

Questions?

Please get in touch if you have a question, spot a mistake or want permission to reuse something.

You made it to the end of the terms. That is impressive attention to detail. May science be with you.
